Malawi/Victoria Buffer is designed for use with Cichlid Lake Salt. It contains a natural carbonate buffer designed to enhance the natural environment of cichlids by increasing the hardness and buffer capacity. It adjusts and maintains pH at 7.8 to 8.2. A 300 g bottle treats 1060 gallons. DIRECTIONS: Use when setting up aquarium and when making water changes, preferably with Seachem's Cichlid Lake Salt, or between water changes as required to maintain pH. It is best to predissolve the buffer in freshwater before use. Use 1 teaspoon for each 10 to 20 gallons of water each day until desired pH is attained and maintained. Thereafter use as required to maintain pH, usually no more than once every two to three weeks. Seachem's Malawi/Victoria Buffer is formulated to maintain a pH between 7.8 and 8.4, depending on the amount used. To attain a lower pH than 7.8, you may use Seachem's Acid Buffer in combination with Malawi/Victoria Buffer. To attain a higher pH than 8.4, use Tanganyika Buffer.
